Exfoliation and Makeup
If you’ve ever wondered why your makeup doesn’t apply as flawlessly as another girl’s, non-exfoliated skin may be your culprit. Chicago makeup artist Elise Brill, owner of Leesi B Cosmetics, says exfoliated skin is key to any precise makeup application. She said skin is generally uneven because of factors such as sun damage, outdoor elements, nutrition, hormones and uneven sunscreen application, but one of the major reasons is not cleansing the skin properly. Brill recommends gentle exfoliation about two to three times a week. Once your skin is exfoliated, your skin care, foundation, powder or tinted moisturizer will glide on more evenly, she said.

Having trouble finding the perfect lip color? One of my all time favorite lip tricks is already in your makeup bag. Lightly line your lips with a your favorite
lip liner. Then dab with your finger your favorite blush color…yes, your favorite blush color, and apply blush color to your lips. Then apply gloss. Blush is highly pigmented with color, and this will give your lips a pop of color without the look of lipstick. This is a great makeup trick that I use for many photo shoots. you can also use the blush on your lips, line slightly and use no gloss over it for a pop of color without a glossy finish.
