Wow, the Golden Globes makeup was fantastic! Red lips made a statement. Thinking about giving Red lips a whirl, don’t be afraid. There are many ways to introduce a RED lip into your makeup style. If you are new to color on your lips, start off with a sheer red, such as Polished, which has a hint of red, without the the boldness of a true red. You can wear it with almost anything neutral. If you are ready to explore a beautiful Red lip, Amore is a classic, a true red, that has the ultimate finish, creamy yet a touch of sheen. A great lip tip/trick with Red lipstick …Apply Scarlet lip liner, by using the SIDE of the pencil, gently sweeping your lips with the bold color, then rub your lips together. This will give your lips a base of red to your lips, then apply a touch of gloss, I suggest Nouba 66 Lipshine.

Ali wanted a smoldering, smokey eye without her makeup application looking too heavy. I applied the botanical shadow primer all over her lid, then applied Sunstone on the lid, Cats Eye Quartz in the corner, with Peach Quartz under the brow.
Ali’s eye brows are filled in with Taupe Eye Brow Wax. Lips lined with Le Rose Lip liner and Superwear lip Cream in Bridal Rose.
The key to Ali’s look, is the application of the shadows, first applying them generously, then blending with Dolce Vita shadow, for the perfect blend.
Ali and Mike were so adorable, they met in High School and so beautiful to see together….Enjoy the photos.

Kate’s Wedding ‘Look” is easy to capture.Dove Grey shadow was applied to her entire lid, along with shadings of Brown Fusion and Dolce Vita Baked Shadows.Her eyes are lined in Black out Gel liner, Gravity gel liner pencil and Libido Gel liner pencil slightly on the outer corners of her eyes. Her cheeks are generously dusted with blush in Pink Quartz. Her lips are lined and lightly filled in with heather lip liner. Socialite lipstick is patted on, to grab the pigment and a touch of Baby Doll Lip Gloss, just in the center of her lips.Kate foundation was airbrushed and Blonde Mineral Powder applied, to set the look.

Kat is a spectacular girl with the most amazing smile. We stayed true to her desire to have not only a flawless finish but a smoldering eye. To achieve this apply a layer of Nouba Nombra Eyeshadow #401 on lid, with an application of Nouba Nombra Eyeshadow #408 in the outer corner. Use Nouba Nombra Eyeshadow #407 for the brow bone. The trick to Kat’s look is the application of the #408. Pat in generously to create a smoldering eye and create definition. Then apply Indelible Gel Eyeliner Black Out, on top and smudge.Underneath, use the Ultimate Gel Eyeliner in Mercury and Gravity. Coat lashes with Nouba Mascarone Carbon Black Mascara. Use Lash Extender in between each coat of mascara. Line lips with Cameo, apply Vintage Plum with lip brush and top with a dab of Luxury Gloss in Mauve Glow.

Exfoliation and Makeup
If you’ve ever wondered why your makeup doesn’t apply as flawlessly as another girl’s, non-exfoliated skin may be your culprit. Chicago makeup artist Elise Brill, owner of Leesi B Cosmetics, says exfoliated skin is key to any precise makeup application. She said skin is generally uneven because of factors such as sun damage, outdoor elements, nutrition, hormones and uneven sunscreen application, but one of the major reasons is not cleansing the skin properly. Brill recommends gentle exfoliation about two to three times a week. Once your skin is exfoliated, your skin care, foundation, powder or tinted moisturizer will glide on more evenly, she said.

A tinted moisturizer is very lightweight, most contain an SPF, and it will help even out your skin without feeling heavy,” she explains. “I love the fact that you are protecting your skin and you’re still able to have a glow without adding a full-coverage foundation.”
Brill also likes this fresh summer-make-up look: Start with a clean face and apply tinted moisturizer, eye shadow (use eye-shadow primer first to help keep the shadow from collecting in the creases of your eyelids), two coats of mascara, bronzer and a quick pop of lip gloss. Voilà!
